By Reception phonics lesson 5, your child reads Dig, Dig, Dig!, a little book about Tade and his grandma. Every word in it uses only the sounds taught by then, so they read it themselves. You read the names.
Five more books follow through the year, each opening once its sounds are taught, with a certificate for every one.

Yes. Create a family account, add your children (up to six) and start the first lesson. All we ask about each child is a name and the month and year they were born. Read how we look after your family’s information.
What does it cost?
One family price covers every child, up to 6, paid monthly or yearly. Prices are being set now. The first 30 days are free, and nothing is charged during them. Brothers and sisters never cost extra, and you can cancel at any time.
Which school years are ready?
Reception and Years 1 to 6 are complete: 788 lessons covering the early learning goals and every primary national curriculum subject except a foreign language, in teaching order, including practice for the Year 4 times tables check and the Year 6 tests. Years 7 and 8 get a topic library of 183 lessons in history, science, faith, trades and digital skills while their own maths and English are written. When you add your child, we tell you exactly what their year includes before you begin.
What can I try first?
Anyone can try a lesson moment from Reception phonics without an account. A family account opens the whole library of 971 lessons, including every year from Reception to Year 6, with weekly planning, parent guidance and saved progress. The lessons are new and have not yet been through a full year with families, so no age progression is claimed.
Do I need to teach every lesson?
KinLearn is designed for parent-led learning. Guided prompts help you explore alongside your child, while the parent guide supports observation and encouragement.
